About Tuscaloosa

Tuscaloosa is the fifth most populous city in Alabama, located in the west-central region of the state, on the banks of the Black Warrior River. It is also known as the “Druid City” because of all the water oaks planted in its downtown streets since the 1840s. Home to the biggest university in Alabama state, and being the regional center of industry, commerce, healthcare, and education in west central Alabama, it makes for a great city to live in.

Facts about Tuscaloosa

There are really crazy facts about Tuscaloosa that many people outside the city don’t know about. Did you know that very rarely you’d see someone referring Tuscaloosa by its full name? The residents just call it T-Town, show for Title Town.  Another crazy thing in T-Town is the phrase “Roll Tide”. This, has no meaning, yet can explain all things imaginable in the universe! If you’re at a loss for words on some occasion and can’t seem to figure out what to say, just nod and say “Roll Tide” and things will just move on as if nothing really happened. “Roll Tide” has such a universal meaning, ESPN made a whole commercial on it!

Oh, and you should find this interesting: Tuscaloosa City is actually one day older than the state of Alabama…. How? I’ll leave it to you to find out.
